Born and raised in the great city of Ottawa and a father of three wonderful young adults, John was given a great opportunity to attend Highland Park high school before its closure. During that time, he was able to obtain experiences in different trades as in, wielding, carpentry, nursing, culinary arts, small engines, and even dry cleaning. With an eagerness for new experiences and challenges he worked his way up to management in the restaurant and retail industry where he remained until moving to Prince Edward Island where he lived for fifteen years.

During his time on P.E.I, he worked as a cleaner, maintenance, and carpenter helper for the Maritime fun group water and amusement park in Cavendish. During the off season, he had the pleasures of enrolling into Holland college where he attended the Heating, ventilating, air conditioning, carpentry, and the heritage retrofit carpentry programs which he earned his diploma at the age of 50. When he returned to Ottawa, he was given the opportunity to work with a great team with The Conscious Builder as a project coordinator!
