Enbridge Gas and the Canada's Greener Homes Grant have partnered to provide rebates towards eligible retrofits such as home insulation, windows and doors, heat pumps and renewable energy systems. The new, co-ordinated Home Efficiency Rebate Plus program will help more Ontarians save energy at home. This is great news for residents across the province, including current Enbridge Gas customers who use natural gas to heat their homes and will benefit from enhanced rebates up to $10,000. Participants can also offset the cost of their EnerGuide home evaluation with an additional rebate of $600.

BETTER HOMES OTTAWA LOAN PROGRAM
https://betterhomesottawa.ca/rebate-and-incentive-programs/better-homes-loan-program/ This pilot program offers low-interest, 20-year loans of up to $125,000 (or 10 percent of the current value assessment of the home, whichever is less) to cover the cost of home energy improvements like thermal envelope upgrades (basement/attic/exterior wall insulation, window/door replacements), mechanical systems (thermostats and controllers, air/ground source heat pumps, solar hot water systems), renewable energy (solar photovoltaic systems), EV chargers (Level 2), and the addition of rental suites (up to a maximum of 30% of the value of the loan).

Your home may be eligible for the program if it requires repairs and/or modifications to make it safer, more accessible and more energy efficient. Examples of acceptable repairs and modifications include, but are not limited to:
electrical and heating systems including chimneys
doors and windows
foundations, roofs, walls, floors and ceilings
plumbing
septic systems, well water, and well drilling
fire safety
cues for doorbells or fire alarms
ramps, handrails, chair and bath lifts, height-adjusted countertops
Please note that any repairs or modifications carried out before the loan or grant is approved in writing and a funding agreement is signed are not eligible and will not be reimbursed.
Scope of funding
The program provides funding in the form of a forgivable loan and/or grant for eligible applicants or participants up to a maximum amount of $20,000:
Grants up to five thousand dollars ($5,000) can only be used for accessibility modifications to the home.
Forgivable loans up to fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000) can be used for both accessibility modifications and essential repairs and must be approved by the program administration.
The loan will be forgiven if you continue to own and live in the house for ten (10) years after the repairs or modifications have been completed.
The amount of the loan is contingent on the total grant amount taken to equal a maximum of $20,000 in total funding received by the applicant.
Eligible households can only receive the loan/grant amount that is verified by quotes for projects

RESIDENTIAL PROTECTIVE PLUMBING PROGRAM (RPPP)
The Residential Protective Plumbing Program (RPPP) provides financial assistance to qualified City of Ottawa property owners for the installation of protective plumbing devices, such as sump pumps and storm and sanitary backwater valves to prevent water and sewage from flooding homes as a result of increased water level (surcharging) in the City’s sewer system.

- Applicant must be the property owner
- Property must be:
- Residential
- Located in the City of Ottawa
- Served by City sewers
- Built prior to January 1, 2004 for protective plumbing work related to the private storm sewer services
- Built prior to January 1, 2012 for protective plumbing work related to private sanitary sewer services
- Protective plumbing device(s) considered as part of the rebate application shall not be installed for the purposes of maintaining, repairing or replacing existing protective plumbing device(s)
- Property taxes must be current
- Applications must be completed and approved before any work can commence
