We hired Cornelis Grey Construction to retrofit ductwork for a kitchen range hood fan. Not a large job perhaps, but it did require some careful planning to work around attic obstructions and still maintain a sufficiently short and straight pathway for the ductwork. Mr. Grey’s crew were professional, resourceful and respectful – and my wife and I are extremely pleased with the result.
Over the many years of our association with Casey Grey and his team at Cornelis Grey Construction Inc. we had numerous repairs done in our former older home and, more recently, renovation work in our current home to upgrade the kitchen, bathrooms, and various exterior upgrades. Our expectations of a good contractor are: technical competence; timeliness; fair pricing; flexibility to adapt solutions; and clear communication throughout the project. The team at Cornelis Grey Construction Inc. have all of these and, in addition, are very easy and pleasant to work with. We highly recommend them for all sorts of repairs and construction, ranging from small to large. The company provides good value for money spent
I have hired contractors to do new house construction and renovation and working with Casey on our kitchen reno was one of the very best experiences I have had. He and his crew were easy to work with, detail and quality oriented, and were more than reasonable when it came time for the inevitable surprise. Highly recommended.
Cornelis Grey Construction was hired to put a fireplace into our living room. This required cutting a hole in an exterior wall, framing the area for the fireplace, and after the fireplace was inserted, building the frame for the sections that extended outside of our home. The team we worked with was very professional and respectful. The worked as quickly and cleanly as possible and were always conscious of the fact that we still lived in the home while the work was being completed. Casey faced the front of the fireplace in a lovely brick and the workmanship was exemplary. I am very happy with the quality of both the company and the work they provide. I recommend them often and will hire them again.
Casey was one of three contractors that I interviewed and received quotes from about installing a large window in a walkout basement. My house is a large bungalow and could have been stressed by the 4′ X 8′ window cut out through the foundation. He was the only one that felt a steel support beam would be necessary for structural security. He was the only one that presented a formal contract and description of the work necessary even though all contractors came highly recommended by the Renovate magazine and BBB. He was always available to answer questions and explain the renovation. He consulted an engineer and got city permits before commencing with the work. His work was done in a timely manner and within budget. His people did an excellent job matching the soldiering with another window already previously installed during the original construction so that there is a uniformity of presentation. I have recommended him to my friends and do not hesitate to recommend him highly now. If I decide to have more renovations done on my home Cornelis Construction will be the first business I call. I have photos available but don’t know how to include them
Cornelis Grey Construction did a complete renovation of my main bathroom in the spring of 2012. Casey Grey was always very each easy to reach, quick to return calls and clearly interested in the project . It took longer than I hoped but the overall attention to detail made up for that. It was not cheap, but I was never concerned that the job was not being done properly. My bathroom is beautiful
We hired Casey Grey construction to do a basement renovation. The project included rebuilding a bathroom (our “spa”) a family room and creating a laundry room. Casey was involved in the design and worked with us to realize our vision for the space. The project was not simple as it involved moving all of the plumbing services for the bathroom and laundry, enlarging two basement windows (concrete cutting), rewiring all of the electrical fixtures and outlets, moving some of the duct work and rebuilding the stairs. In addition to all of this work on the “bones” of the house, the space was finished to a high standard (tile work, laminate flooring, dry wall, wood work etc). The project plan including costs and timeline was very clearly laid out without any ambiguities. Most important, the plan was executed exactly as planned with no surprises or deviations. The workmen were courteous, competent and hardworking. The subcontractors were highly skilled and respectful of our property.
Casey and his crew are on time, tidy and efficient. The contractors he recommended were the same, pretty much. Highest marks go to CGrey Construction.
Casey made a design for my bathroom renovation that was better than I had imagined or had envisioned. His crew were on time, cleaned up after every task, also very efficient and professional.
I hired Cornelis Grey Construction to renovate my basement, paint some rooms, re-roof my garage, re-sand my hardwood floors and fix some damaged ceilings. All jobs were done with utmost professionalism, within budget, on time and in good humour. The team was a joy to work with. Cornelis Grey Construction is now my go-to contracting company and I do not hesitate to heartily endorse their excellent work and work ethic.
